ECOLOGICAL CYCLES FEEDBACK LOOPS & MUSHROOMS

Implementing techniques in the deployment of fungi

Mushroom/fungi cultivation works hand-in-hand with sustainable forestry in that the felled trees are by-products of necessary cutting that allows preferred species space to thrive. To put it simply, we are not cutting down trees so that we can grow mushrooms; it is actually a fringe benefit. Inoculating felled trees with mushroom spawn is a valuable. For this particular project we were not producing mushrooms for edible consumption but more in line with enabling a fungi/mushroom infrastructure, building complexity, deepening the site functionalities. Inoculating 160 stumps, wood chip and sawdust from the felled trees, crating a network of fungi hubs, across the site, deep in the soil and across the landscape.
