THE PRINCIPLES of ecological design can be applied to a continuum of spatial environments across different scales, ranging from individual homes, to neighbourhoods and industrial parks, as well as to particular manufactured products.

I see all landscapes as Life-support systems, systems that provide all or some of the items (such as oxygen, food, water, control of temperature and pressure, disposition of carbon dioxide and body wastes) necessary for maintaining life or health.
